October is almost done

So it is 20 October and the month has honestly slipped by. I am working at a little FOB (forward operating base) in a pretty dangerous place.

I am quite a bit relieved because I was invited to work with a Special Forces B team and they are able to get some real work done. I have come to realize that there is really nothing "special" about them. They are just regular guys doing the same job that most of the infantry guys do without the bureaucratical restrictions. They have treated me extremely well and I am glad to know them.

Recently they upgraded our internet and I have been able to Skype home and see my family and they have been able to see me. For me this is one of the best treats in the world. I really don't know how Cami's Dad did it in Vietnam when they got a phone call or two during thier whole tour. Where would we be without the internet?

I am so glad for all of your love and support and the packages and thoughts and prayers. I know that it won't be too long before this tour will be over and things will go back to normal! Hope to see you all there!

The technology is truly a blessing! I'm sure it feels like a lifesaver to be connected- I'll keep watch for more updates. :)
